  • Planning on the goals for Linuxchix community
    • Who will be our target audience - We can categorise our audience as :
      • People who know what is Linux and already using them
      • New users in Linux
  • Deciding our goals
    • Educate people on Linux, make them aware of the Linux projects, guide them in such a way that they can find a career and recognise various scopes in Linux. Teach them to install Linux, use various applications. Provide a support and guidance for those who have doubts and queries.
  • Things to do to achieve our goals
    • Make people aware of Linuxchix - a community for women support , also a platform for all to contribute and help each other. Participation of more women members. Attend FOSS meets such as gnunify and establish ourselves in such events. Conduct monthly activities and introduce ourselves . eg, visit the school suggested by Manjusha where they use Dr. Joe. See them how they use it and understand which are the areas where we can provide them assistance. Organise events like Install Fest and guide them how to perform installations .Create awareness for the projects like OLPC in schools and among teachers. Publish articles in Linux magazines . Request for speakers with expertise in various fields - send mails to lugs requesting for the same.
  • Improve our wiki page
    • Provide more learning resources on wiki.
    • Guidance to companies who provides fellowships and grants for women in particular
    • Create an exclusive section for new users with information on:
      • Migrating from Windows to Linux
      • FAQs
      • Documentations

  • Propose a presentation of Indian Linuxchix for the BOF session.
    • Sarmila to propose a talk for Gnunify.
  • Update Wiki including more learning resources, different sections, howtos and documentations and informations on various activities like OLPC .
    • Anuj to send more links for such informations.
  • Propose for a logo contest for a new logo. Logos to be created using the open source tools like GIMP, Inkscape.
