1. Create a community on social networking sites:

2. Communicate with working professionals (directly or via their company representatives) to create awareness about FOSS, LC and volunteering opportunities

To be done:
@ create a handout (document and/or other media) that can be presented as part of this promotion idea. [to be discussed on the list]

note: for pune, it was suggested that we collaborate with PLUG as well

3. A page for new users/members was a suggestion. Since we already have the page (Newbie corner), there were ideas about enriching it.

To be done:
@ screencast on "basic linux installation" [smriti and shubhra]
@ screencast on "wireless setup on laptops" [rucha]

4. A place to ask questions on the wiki. This will eventually help collect content for general and topic-based FAQs.

To be done:
@ A link/mailto or an appropriate message is to be put prominently on the wiki for "posting questions". [runa]
@ A link to "linuxquestions.org" to be put up in the newbie corner page. [runa]

5. A list of contacts from each city (or perhaps campus etc.), to allow people to contact a LinuxChix member "geographically" nearest to them.

6. A "News" section on the wiki, that would be a placeholder for various FOSS and FOSS-industry related news. feeds from relevent sites can be used for this.

7. A grants page/section to be created to track and announce various grants/fellowships programs for FOSS projects can be announced. Perhaps similar to the "upcoming event section", albeit more detailed.

To be done:

8. Presentation and sessions on specific topics, relevent for the students to be organised by LC in their campus. Collaborative sessions with Plug and independent Subject Matter Specialists could be an option. Session requests would be sent in by students and proposed by LC as well.

9. Workshops/Hands-on sessions to be conducted at insititutions where FOSS related awareness is limited.

To be done:
@ Activity day proposed by Manjusha to be chalked out and targetted for completion in February 2008 [manjusha and runa]

@ Activity day proposed by Shweta to be chalked out after completion of the first activity.

10. Proposal for a logo for the Indian Chapter. A contest can be held online seeking contributions and selection.

11. Promotional posters for LC.

To be done:
@ 5 different individual poster designs to be completed in 2008.
